The Penderwicks on Gardam Street - Jeanne Birdsall The four Penderwick sisters, their father, and of course, Hound the hound, have returned home to their house on Gardam Street. They're back in school, or in Batty's case, in daycare. You'd think things would calm down a bit, but, well, this is not the group your looking for if calm is what you'd want. Jane and Skye are trading homework, Batty's spotted a Bugman driving down their street, they have a new neighbor to spy on, and worst of all, Daddy's decided to start dating. Hijinks and adventures abound in this delightful follow-up.

I actually think I liked this better than the first Penderwicks book. I loved seeing them at home, in their native environment. I love the way that the girls all have consciences, real, imposing consciences, and that they don't have to get caught scheming to feel bad about it. I love their interactions with Ben, the neighbors baby, and of course, with each other. I love how they love each other! And also, I love their father, like, a lot. Best ever.
