My Father's Dragon - Ruth Stiles Gannett, Ruth Chrisman Gannett I've been meaning to read this for a while, and I'm so glad I finally did. It's a classic for a reason--the language, the storytelling, the illustrations--everything's whimsical, innocent, straight-forward. The story expects you to accept talking cats and sailing to magical islands without question, and I had no trouble going with the flow. It would make a fantastic read-aloud.
