I haven't read much chick lit. In fact, this is only the second book I've read in the genre, the first being Emily Giffen's Baby Proof
. I was much more impressed with this book than that. Marian Keyes is hilarious, is the dryest of all possible ways. And, also, this book was much more empowering. Want to be really, really pissed off by a make-believe man? And see him really get told what-for by the woman he left, on the DAY SHE GAVE BIRTH TO THEIR DAUGHTER? Srsly. Anyway, I liked it. I felt a bit bored until page 200 or so, so, I don't know. If you're a quitter, try to be a bit persistent?
